New Research Assistant for the Encyclopedia Project
The team of the Encyclopedia Project got a boost from October with the coming of Eudritch Jean, M.T.S. a recent Master of Theological Studies graduate from Friedensau Adventist University, Germany. Jean will serve as a volunteer in the Institute of Adventist Studies, Friedensau where he will join forces with the ESDA team. Jean brings some experience in historical research with him. His just completed thesis dealt with the role of experience in Seventh-day Adventism from the beginning of the movement until its formal organization as a church in 1863
Jean comes originally from Haiti and is married to Markhelita Bastien a pediatrician who at the moment is studying to finish a Master in Counselling at Friedensau. Before his masters, Jean completed a diploma in Electronic Engineering in 2002 from the engineering school (Faculté des Sciences) of the Haitian State University (Université d'Etat Haiti). At the end of the same year, he began working as a Network and Support Engineer Assistant at GaMa Consulting S.A. At some point, while he worked there, he pursued a Bachelor in Theology at the Haitian Adventist University (Université Adventiste d'Haiti). He then began his internship in pastoral ministry on January 2015. In this vein, he worked as an assistant pastor at the Haitian Central SDA Conference (Fédération Centrale d'Haiti des Adventistes du 7e Jour) for nine months, until he came to Germany to pursue a master studies.
Jean is very interested in Church History as well as the other areas of theology. It is this interest and enthusiasm that Jean brings to the table of this historic research project.
